Local Law Makers Wasting Time

On the way home from the store I was listening to talk radio and heard on the news that Gov. Browns office was reporting that most of the bills that were on his desk were not important and would receive a VETO. Gov. Brown stated that we need to be focusing on unemployment and the budget, I agree.

Everyone knows that California has been in a sad shape for a long, long time. Looking at the latest round of bills coming out of our legislator I don’t think they see what we see. They have wasted valuable time doing other offices jobs.

http://www.sbsun.com/news/ci_18898734

Assemblyman Paul Cook, R-Yucaipa Signed:

A.B. 167 makes it illegal for a person to make a false claim of a military
decoration. Pending Brown’s signature: ALREADY ILLEGAL

A.B. 199 would enable instruction on the role of Filipinos in World War II in
social science classes. STATE OFFICE OF EDUCATIONS JOB

A.B. 309 would require an appointed individual or “ex officio” member to
vacate his or her office when the individual has been suspended, disqualified or
otherwise excluded from participating in federal transactions. The bill doesn’t
require vacating an elected office, only the position on the governing body of
the local agency. COMMON SENSE

Assemblyman Tim Donnelly, R-Hesperia Signed:

A.C.R. 6 recognizes the month of January as National Slavery and Human
Trafficking Prevention Month, and it would recognize Feb. 1 as Free From Slavery
Day. IS THIS NECISSARY?

Assembly woman Wilmer Amina Carter, D-Rialto Signed:

A.B. 230 amends the education code to give Middle College high school
students equal access to community college courses so they can graduate. STATE OFFICE OF EDUCATIONS JOB

A.C.R. 57 declares the week of June 6 to June 12 Dropout Recovery Week and
states the Legislature’s intent to encourage the support of dropout-recovery
high schools with creative teaching strategies, alternative assessments, and
adequate resources. STATE OFFICE OF EDUCATIONS JOB

Vetoed:

A.B. 446 would have authorized a county to adopt a restorative justice
program to address the needs of minors, victims and the community.

So why wouldnt our local elected officials want to deal with unemployment and the budget? Why tip toe around the two things keeping California from progressing and forcing hundreds of workers and employers to leave the state? FEAR, you see for the longest time they have been able to pander to the special interests and just exist in Sacramento and everything was hunky dory.

http://www.sbsun.com/letters/ci_18896905 this article is from the San Bernardino Sun and this letter in the Voice of the People titled “Lost Loyalty” the writer is upset because Josie Gonzales is endorsing Sen. Gloria Negrete McLeod for Congress. The writer believes that Congressman Joe Baca has done a good job and everyone should just fall in line with what he wants because he wins in such large margins. No, the only reason he wins is because he represents areas that act in two ways come election time. One whoever puts up the most signs and liters the area must be the best. Second just stay home and not vote at all. The only time the second option wasnt true was when President Obama was elected they came out in droves. Because of that the proposition making gay marriage illegal in Ca won, without that turnout the outcome would have been much different.

So lets contact our elected officials at let them know they need to get to the business of saving this state from destruction.

Catalyst for change

On Tuesday September 13th JOSEPH W. MARTINEZ Trustee, Board of Education Rialto Unified School District wrote an opinion on Tobin Brinker as a teacher at Frisbee Middle School and a City Council Member for the Third Ward in San Bernardino.

Mr. Brinker also runs a Facebook group called Inland Empire Teachers where teachers can openly connect with one another and share ideas, concerns and frustrations. As someone who is part of this group and a former educator I find the group refreshing and positive.

Mr. Brinker even availed himself to someone with concerns not connected to education, but to the state of a part of his council ward. Its men like Mr. Brinker that keep the Inland Empire moving forward and take the action necissary to forge ahead through life making everyone’s better by just not settling for good enough.

I challenge you to read the letter on the link above and read the nice words Mr. Martinez writes about Mr. Brinker.

10 Years since 9/11

tomorrow Sunday September 11 2011 it will be 10 yrs since we lost so many lives, and so many more were effected for a lifetime. I personally had a loved one in an airplane that morning. It was a scary time for everyone because we had no idea what exactly was going on or how to react.

It wasnt until those terrorist groups took responsibility that we knew what was going on. It has changed how we do everything from concerts, shopping to national defense.

Did we allow these people to bully us into a war we have the hardest time winning?

No matter what you think about our National Defense or the wars in the Middle East we have men and wemon taking the fight to the enemy and we need to support them. There are local events scheduled and I would suggest we take the time to attend and keep the importance of this day in mind.

Where are these cameras?????

Supposedly there was 287,000 of federal money to install cameras in the parks of Rialto.

“While the goal is to install the cameras at every park in the city, the first three will be Frisbee Park, Rialto Park and Jerry Eaves Park.

“Those are three of our more challenging parks because of the way the parks are laid out,” said police Chief Mark Kling. “Officers can drive down the street and not see what’s in the park.” The cameras will provide real-time images of the parks and give officers a “play-by-play” of criminal activity there, Kling said.”

According to the article below:

http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2010/03/30/4701773.htm

Well let me see I saw a black and white patrol car driving right in front of me on etiwanda ave tonight and she drove past a lit garage with narcotics going on as well as 2 people having sex at Flores park. I guess the sex on the picnic tables 15 ft away from the street is to far away. I was told at a block captain meeting prior to this summer that the remainder of the parks would have those cameras installed this year and that Flores Park would be done by September, no work has begun.

Our officer seem very over worked, NW groups are dropping from existence, city is in a budget free fall. We need these cameras so that our cop hours don’t go wasted. Police going to the call and knowing who to look for is more productive than local residents putting their necks on the line, and then being hung out to dry because they have to live with the criminals the police couldn’t pin a case on.

WHERE ARE THESE CAMERAS.

Death of a 12yr old

A Rialto motorist who police say fled after he struck and killed a 12-year- old
boy riding a skateboard has been charged with voluntary manslaughter with gross
negligence.

http://www.sbsun.com/crime/ci_18847122

Matthew Cory Hudson is the man charged with the hit and run of the 12yr old earlier this week. He not only hit a child and ran but successfully evaded police and then called to report his car stolen and couldnt even do that convincingly. Serious this guy is a dufus.

In the Begining / Rialto’s In & Out

Hello Everyone,

I would like to welcome you to my newest blog it’s a pleasure to take a moment and divulge into the world of whats going on in RIALTO! We have elections coming up, empty lots to fill, businesses to bring and budgets to cut.

Lets Start with something that has been talked about and promised for over a year now Rialto’s In & Out? Developer Fernando Acosta who owns the Popeye Chicken restaurant and Self Serve Car Wash on the same lot on baseline, is the developer of this project.  The City of Rialto Redevelopment Agency is investing about $2.4 million in the project. So why can’t we buy a Double Double in Rialto yet? Because no matter how much money you throw at a project without sharp people at the helm nothing happens quickly.

Mayor Grace Vargas has said this restaurant would bring 60 jobs to Rialto. With jobs so scarce why isn’t this project moving along faster? Where are the elected officials making sure this 3 restaurant project moves along?

The same place they were when the put a moratorium on building along the NEW 210 freeway and watched every other city along it take advantage of the economic opportunities. The same place the were when they watched the Target store fall farther and farther from reality. The same place they are now watching a major housing project slip away and their country club area all but fade from existence. Sitting on their hands and not doing their part to sell Rialto as a viable place to bring your business.

Here is a video of the demolition the only real work to happen there.
