As has been very well covered is Presidential Candidate Hilary Clinton calling her opponents supporters deplorable. Well in a recent interview Councilman Ed Scott was quoted in the San Bernardino Sun article calling the people who run to seek political office Crazy.
“Generally, during an election year, when we have council races, we go dark in October,” Councilman Ed Scott said. “So that we don’t have all the crazy election antics at city council meetings.” – Rialto Councilman Ed Scott
This is a failed statement because we have been told that the council goes dark to allow incumbents the ability to equally campaign just as their challengers. We can tell you that the crazy antics (public holding our leaders feet to the fire) go on year round and this is one of the few opportunities that Mr. Scott can shut down the community.
Ed Scott is no stranger to yelling at the community and city staff behind closed doors and in the public. Ed Scott used to accuse the press of misquoting him but once we began covering this city we found that Mr. Scott opens himself up to being quoted for the words that pour over his lips. Once we began making public the videos of City Council leaders acting in ways that are not appropriate the leaders who were in the wrong have grown concerned.
Below is a recent video of Ed Scott blindly threatening the community at large that he is coming after someone. This is a concern because he has used actual litigation against citizens who worked to oppose his past attempts to outsource Rialto’s Police Department.
What all this proves is that as we are voting that we vote for leaders who will lead the people not threaten and shut them down.
On Wednesday October 5th we brought you the story of the Werner Elementary safety issues.
That same evening the parents and community came out to speak to the Rialto Traffic Commission on the issues with speeding & safety in front of their school. Listed on the Commission agenda was the anticipated attendance of current Rialto Mayor Deborah Robertson the parents and community were hoping to get to speak to her publicly. Well once again the Mayor was a No Show and only represented an empty seat.
Jasmine Avila carried the group with a prepared statement that pointed out the mayors history with transportation and her campaign promise to make Rialto a safe place to live work and play. The group now calls on Mayor Robertson to turn words into actions and help make the front of their school a safe place for our kids.
The group has heard from the mayor already stating that any solution would not work because of where Rialto Unified School District decided to place this school even though the city was not in favor of the location. Two parents from the group also addressed the Commissioners one explaining how the parents are choosing to solve the problem of traffic.
The parents and the community they have rallied to their side are sticking to the issue that something needs to be done. After the meeting Mr. David Phillips a community member and local advocate running for city council was able to introduce the group to City Administrator Mike Story who told the group that they are going to meet down at the school in the coming week with all parties to see what can be done to make the street safer for students. Mike Story said that the meeting will consist of Public Works Director Robert Eiezenbiez, Rialto Police Sgt, RUSD top leadership and others to see first hand what is going on and how they can come to a solution.
During the Commission meeting the Chair Dennis Barton told the group that traffic signals must be warranted via rules that the city and state are bound to. We didn’t get to ask Mr. Barton if the short traffic signals on foothill and Baseline were held against those same standards?
In the midst of an election year the amount of ducking and hiding that is going on is way out of character leaving one to believe if the Mayor still wants to be Rialto’s Mayor? Then enters Councilman Ed Scott who wants you to forget that the area the schools are in were once zoned for commercial purposes would need to be re-zoned before RUSD could build a school there.
“I was extremely concerned when the school district decided to build schools there, because it’s on a major industrial-type street. I think the school district should have done some better planning than put a school there,” he said. “I agree, it’s something that needs to be looked at, and the school district needs to participate in it, since it’s something they decided to do. … Whenever you build a school, you have to think about the children that you’re educating and make sure they’re in a safe situation.” Councilman Ed Scott
The problem is IF the mayor and councilman Ed Scott were so against this school being built why did they approve the land re-zoning? Well it is because our leaders refuse to make the hard decisions that may not be popular but necessary. Because not allowing the school to be built would not have been popular and the Mayor and Ed Scott are only interested in the popular vote.
We have been told by staff and city council that the truck traffic that is soon to increase once the newly built warehouses are filled will not impact residents and that measures have been put into place to push traffic towards Laurel Ave and not Ayala where the area is more dense with family homes. The result so far with just a few of the newly built warehouses in place is that the truck traffic is engulfing the Ayala & Baseline intersection and tucks are making the area very dangerous because they seem unable to obey the traffic signals or fit into the poorly designed separation medians that only allow for three cars maximum to turn left on Ayala let alone massive Big Rig Trucks.
Well after a recent community outreach meeting where residents were asked to show up and voice their concern about the Retail project that is finally kicking off the topic wasn’t the new shopping center it was the damage that the increased truck traffic was causing. Due to the widening of Ayala the grass trees and bushes at the top end of Cedar were removed. This with the increase in truck traffic has residents unable to open their windows for fresh air and some residents are forced to wash down their homes exterior walls due to all the soot and road dust that now rains down over family homes.
Staff did state that the once empty land has always been zoned for commercial warehouse use. It seems that our airport was the only thing keeping people from having harmful, toxic pollutants rain down over their homes.
Staff, Councilman Ed Scott and Mayor Deborah Robertson have all said that the trucks will be diverted away from RIALTO homes. In this first video you will see that is not the case. Not one sign or road median does anything to stop trucks from heading towards heavily populated areas.
In this video you will see another view of a diffrent area of warehouses in the old airport area where truck traffic is allowed to go wherever they wish.
What this proves is that we need leaders that want to hear from the people BEFORE they drop massive development on single family communities.
Over the last few months the Inland Empire Taxpayers Association has taken a interest in the race for the 31st Congressional District. They seem to have it out for one candidate Paul Chabot and the attacks now have moved from negative mailers to a robo call that will go out to voters in the 31st Congressional District days before the June 7th primary on Tuesday.
Earlier today Paul Chabot put out a message to supporters:
Friends. A fake anti tax organization supporting my opponent is about to run a negative robo call against our campaign. The fake anti-tax organization is called the Inland Empire Taxpayers Association run by Ross Sevy a District Rep for Assemblymember Obernolte and Chris Mann a Deputy Chief of Staff to San Bernardino County Supervisor Josie Gonzales. They are hired guns who take money and promote slanderous and libel ads. We will hold these individuals legally accountable for what they have already posted on their website. I call upon Jay Obernolte and Josie Gonzales to stop allowing tax payer staff to moonlight running special interest political action committees. The Inland Empire Taxpayers Association has lost all credibility and its very existence reminds voters of rampant political corruption in our region.
They have now taken in over 20K to run an unethical and dishonest campaign of hate and ignorance.
I worked with voters in 2015 to defeat a tax that this same so called anti tax organization actually took money to help promote. We defeated their dishonest campaign by 77 percent in 2015.
Together I will fight corruption in San Bernardino County and in Washington when elected.
Looking at the Inland Empire Taxpayers Association Facebook page it looks like Paul Chabot may be right. Here are just a couple reasons why:
The Inland Empire Taxpayers Association has endorsed and is actively working to pass Measure D in the City of Colton! This is a common-sense measure that will allow the City to maintain service levels without raising taxes or fees. In fact, it guarantees that electric utility rates will not increase for at least 5 years. – What measure D does is allow the city to raid the public utilities fund to cover up the lack of money that exists to provide essential services. Cities that have done this have had to sell off their utility departments and provide less than adequette services due to no extra funds to make much needed repairs and upgrades Colton voters will vote on this come June 7th.
In 2015 the Inland Empire Taxpayers Association supported a tax increase on residents in Rancho Cucamonga that was defeated by 77 percent by the voters.
The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association instructed the Inland Empire Taxpayers Association to remove the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association logo from their site. The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association as you may know is the largest anti tax association that has worked tirelessly to protect California residents from the dangers of eliminating Prop 13 in California (On June 6th, 1978, nearly two-thirds of California’s voters passed Proposition 13, reducing property tax rates on homes, businesses and farms by about 57%.)
Many thing stick out as outright lies from the Inland Empire Taxpayers Association here are the top lies on their attack website on Paul Chabot:
Paul Chabot was a no show on Parole votes – Paul Chabot was there at the votes in question but had not had the time to review the case or be present for the testimony because Paul was serving our country in Iraq so instead of voting without all the information he abstained.
Claiming that Paul Chabot is just chasing another government paycheck – Wrong once again, if Paul Chabot is wrong for running the Freestyle Foundation then so is Mental Health Systems, Reach Out, ICSC and the other organizations that take millions in State and County money to run Drug and Alcohol programs in the local region. Mental Health Systems is paid over 3 million each year to run anti drug coalitions in a hand full of cities in San Bernardino County. The Inland Empire Taxpayers Association claims that Paul Chabot makes over a 100 thousand each year for running anti drug programs but that is the entire budget for Drug Free RC, Inland Valley Drug Free Coalition and Drug Free California.
The Inland Empire Taxpayers Association uses a highly edited video to turn Paul Chabot’s words against him. Paul is asked in a TV interview why Marijuana is still illegal and labeled a schedule 1 narcotic according to the Federal Government. Paul lays asks why we make other things illegal like LSD, Heroin & Child Porn. The Inland Empire Taxpayers Association uses this short clip to insinuate that Paul Chabot is for Child Exploitation???? The problem is medical marijuana has led to a sharp rise in youth access and abuse. Many local Law Enforcement Agencies have seen Marijuana surpass both tobacco and alcohol use in people under the age of 18.
Finally why are employees of the County being allowed to act as hired guns who take money and promote slanderous and libel ads? What happened to the days of making sure the staff of agencies that are there to act on the communities best interest? Are the top staff of Jay Obernolte and Josie Gonzalesspending tax payer time attacking residents running for public office? We can tell you that we did over hear a conversation between Joe Baca and Dan Flores a senior staff member for Josie Gonzales at the City of Rialto Memorial Day event complaining about the Memorial Day event in Bloomington where Paul Chabot just happened to be one of the Military speakers:
It appears that this election cycle will be one of the dirtiest elections in as many years and its not just on the presidential side of things.
With a week to go before the June 7 primary, two Republicans in the 31st Congressional District race are going after each other.
In a mailer sent out last week, candidate Sean Flynn called opponent Paul Chabot “No Show Chabot” for “refusing to vote” while serving on the California Parole board.
“Paul Chabot took over $100,000 of your taxpayer money and was supposed to make tough decisions to keep us safe,” the flier reads in part, “but he didn’t show up to vote.”
Chabot served on the board from 2006 through 2015. He posted on his Facebook page on Monday that he missed votes during his deployment to Iraq, and hit back against Flynn, an economics professor, during a campaign event in downtown San Bernardino on Tuesday.
A naval reservist, Chabot returned from Iraq in 2008, but the flier specifically cites votes he abstained from in August 2009. According to parole board records, Chabot abstained on six of the eight votes held by the board on Aug. 18, 2009. (He did vote on the other two.)
“Abstaining is a vote,” Chabot said after a campaign event in downtown San Bernardino on Tuesday. “I had no knowledge of those particular cases.”
Chabot had just returned to the country the year before and wasn’t up to speed on those six cases, he said after his campaign event.
“The right and ethical thing for me to do was for me to abstain,” Chabot said.
But he defends his record overall: “I have one of the toughest recods on the California state parole board.”
Chabot lost to Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-San Bernardino, in his first run for the seat in 2014.
“We’re up against a campaign that’s equally as dishonest as we faced in 2014,” Paul Chabot told a group of supporters during Tuesday’s rally.
Officially, this is Chabot’s second attempt for the seat, although, by Chabot’s own admission, he’s never really stopped running against Aguilar after losing to him two years ago.
In addition to Aguilar, Chabot and Flynn, former Rep. Joe Baca is running as a Republican, along with retired school teacher Kaiser Ahmed, who’s running as a Democrat.
First off we analyzed all of the candidates for this Congressional Seat and from the get go we found incumbent Pete Aguilar not the person that this region needs working for the people in Washington DC. Paul Chabot was the person that opposed Pete Aguilar in the last election 2 years ago. Paul Chabot ran a Grassroots campaign that was heavily out spent by the outsiders of the democrat party that flooded the region with money and a visit from Former President Clinton and Current VP Joe Biden. Even with all that Paul Chabot held on to make it a tough win for Pete Aguilar.
Paul Chabot came to our city of Rialto and held a Coffee event at Coffee Nuttz in Rialto. Democrats came out and asked Paul Chabot some tough questions and he answered them all unlike Pete Aguilar who has made a habit of running from the constituents when the questions get hard.
Paul Chabot has worked tirelessly for the well being of families and children. His organization has come to cities all over the Inland Empire to bring resources and collaborative partnerships to make local cities better for everyone. Why don’t you know about this? Well you see Paul Chabot and his team don’t come in with a massive team of fake people for a single event jump in front of the cameras for that perfect shot. No Paul Chabot works behind the scenes and works alongside people to create a better community for everyone. His team spreads out all over the Inland Empire to make an impact on the lives of people that matter. We need real people in congress that are interested in fixing the problems that the tax payers care about.
When we first heard about Paul Chabot’s plan for a Joint Military Base in San Bernardino we were skeptical. After listening more about his plans and watching crime skyrocket in San Bernardino this year the plan became one of the best ideas that has been brought to the region. Think about it the world is getting more dangerous and the public has become less comfortable with massive troop boots on ground solutions and more special forces and using air technology resources has become the new way to combat the evil that threatens us. Also our staff grew up in this region and the area that used to consist of Norton Air Force Base and Base Housing was a nice safe place to live and shop. Fast forward today it is full of crime, drugs and looks like a dump. The International Airport has been stalled by years due to massive corruption from Airport Board Staff.
Wikipedia entry on the SB Int Airport has this to say about the demise of the Airport:
An audit completed June 2011 at the request of a grand jury investigation found examples of potential mismanagement and financial irregularities. In September 2011, as part of a special joint corruption task force, the FBI raided the offices of the airport and the home of airport developer Scot Spencer to secure internal documents. In late September 2011, Don Rogers, the Director of the SBIA Authority (SBIAA) resigned. The grand jury report questioned a relationship between Rogers and Spencer, including a settlement of a legal claim by companies owned by Spencer against the SBIAA for almost $1 million without ascertaining whether Spencer’s companies suffered damages equivalent to such an amount.
The good ole San Bernardino Sun also reported on this corrupt land of stolen federal money:
More than 80 FBI agents filled a 26-foot U-Haul truck with records – including computers and mobile phones – as part of an investigation into mail and wire fraud, bribery, conspiracy and money laundering, and theft and fraud related to federal funds.
June 7th is the primary and you have these choices: Pete Aguilar, Sean Flynn, Joe Baca, Kaiser Ahmed & Paul Chabot
The top 2 candidates to obtain the most votes will compete in the general election in November we say your vote should be for Paul Chabot.
(1) If an abortion results in the live birth of an infant, the infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States, and entitled to all the protections of such laws.
(2) Any infant born alive after an abortion or within a hospital, clinic, or other facility has the same claim to the protection of the law that would arise for any newborn, or for any person who comes to a hospital, clinic, or other facility for screening and treatment or otherwise becomes a patient within its care.
When our staff found out about the Grand Opening ceremony at the Niagara bottling plant we decided to head up and see who was there and get some great video and pictures. What we were met with were lies and fear from the Mayor of Rialto Deborah Robertson and the executive staff at the Rialto Niagara bottling plant. Mayor Robertson saw our staff getting out of their vehicles and she darted into the building. Once inside our staff were met with some questions on who we were with then a lady from Niagara Water Came out and told us that press and media were not allowed in their Grand Openings. Well as you can see from the video above apparently that only applies to Rialto because in Pierce County the media was given full access to the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting.
So what does it say about a company that allows local elected mayors to use them to keep people out of informing the public through good ole fashioned reporting methods?
When a major business or development opens up in any city the business wants the community to know. Well apparently not if your Niagara Water the flagship warehouse the future tax generator for the city of Ontario had a Grand Opening today and blocked access by normal everyday people like the ones that but their product.
Nothing seemed to odd about this grand opening until we reached the inside of the doors. The only people allowed in were the IMPORTANT people. You know these people its Mayor Deborah Robertson and Ed Scott and the staff members from local Congressional and Assembly offices the IMPORTANT people. We found it odd that we made it through the door only to have Mayor Robertson send a Niagara Water employee out to send us packing. Only makes sense that Mayor Robertson would be controlling who had access to this grand opening since she is a large part of the reason we have been flooded with massive warehouses, increased truck traffic and nothing but back breaking labor jobs for Rialto youth.
You may be asking yourself why would a warehouse in Rialto be sending tax money to Ontario? Ontario has been in this warehouse game for so long that they anticipated when they would be out of room for new warehouses so they began to structure deals that tied companies new endevors into the Ontario tax base. So our lovely Mayor in all her ill advised glory welcomed three new warehouses into Rialto and we will get ZERO tax dollars for years to come. That means all of the additional costs that come with these warehouses are ours to bare without any help from tax revenue. According to the cities website tax dollars are a big deal to the viability of the city:
Sales tax is one of the largest revenues for the City of Rialto. However, the City only receives a small portion of the total amount paid in Sales Tax. Only $.10 of every dollar spent in sales tax in the City of Rialto actually goes directly to the City of Rialto. Another small percentage goes to the City through the Measure I program. Please see the following breakdown of your total sales tax dollars.
Is Mayor Robertson your Mayor the the warehouses Mayor?
So if tax money is so important to the city and we see so little of every dollar spent here why would the city welcome in businesses that have tax arrangements with other cities? Many believe it has to do with the massive amount of money the warehouse industry has given to council member Scott, Mayor Pro Tem Baca and Mayor Robertson.
The Mayor is aligning herself with a company that pumps your tap water and then puts it into bottles and then sells it back to you. This business technique reminds me of the popular movie The Lorax where multiple characters show zero regard for the environment and only care about profits.
