Are you ready for the grand opening of the newest Raising Cane’s!

Our team got a chance to check out this awesome location as the staff trained for the upcoming crowds that will flock to this location once the doors open. Those who attended the event found the food had great flavor. The chicken was juicy, Texas toast buttery and the Cane’s sauce was something we had never tasted before.

Unlike most fast food places today Raising Cane’s has a core concept and they do that one thing very well:

“Our concept is simple and unique… we only have ONE LOVE – quality chicken finger meals! At Raising Cane’s® you get an exceptionally high quality product served quickly and conveniently. We can do this because we offer a limited menu. The specialized systems developed by Raising Cane’s® allow us to maintain a level of quality unmatched in the industry. Our commitment to this concept will not allow us to compromise our quality, cut corners or clutter our menu with new products that do not fit our core menu offering.”

On Thursday January 18th the 2nd Inland Empire Location will open which will lead to 17 more stores in California in 2018. Other cities slated to get a Raising Cane’s are Ontario, Menifee and Fontana. When speaking to corporate staff Rialto was not on their list of slated locations.

20 Lucky Caniacs will receive Free Cane’s for a year! Entry period begins at 6:30 am on Thursday 1/18 and winners will be drawn at 7:30 am. Must be 13 years or older and present to win.

First 100 dine-in customers to make a purchase will receive a Raising Cane’s T-shirt and a voucher for a Free Box Combo on your next visit.

Join Joel Greene as he helps to kick off the Rialto Relay for Life event. This year the Rialto event is looking to raise $30 Thousand to combat cancer. If you would like to help them hit that mark you can donate any amount by clicking here.

Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,200 communities and 27 countries. Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it’s time to take action against cancer.

Join us at these events to bring communities together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer.

We’ll kick off the event by celebrating everyone who’s been affected by cancer. Whether someone’s been diagnosed for 10 days or been cancer-free for 10 years, they gather together for the crowd to cheer them on.

Survivors & Caregiver Lap

Time: 9:30am

Survivors define courage and inspire those facing a cancer diagnosis. Their strength is honored with each step they take around the first lap. If you know anyone who’s overcome cancer, invite them to join.

Caring for others is such a selfless act, which is why we honor caregivers with a lap. They often walk with the person they’ve supported.

Fight Back Ceremony

Time: 10:00am

Have you ever wanted to see a cement truck up close? Climb inside a cherry picker? Explorer a firetruck? Join us for a second annual Touch-A-Truck event.

Kids Corner sponsored by Target with games, crafts and activities for kids of all ages.

Be your own builder. Join us for a kids workshop sponsored by the Home Depot where kids can use tools to build their own creations.

We will talk about what we can do beyond the event to fight back against this horrible disease.

Each Luminaria bag represents a loved one lost to cancer, brings support to those affected by it, and honors survivors. This powerful moment gives people the opportunity to grieve but also offers hope and comfort.

We celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together and remember those we’ve lost. Together, we commit to take action and help end the pain and suffering of cancer.

Ontario and the Inland Empire Get Their Very Own Comic Con at

The Ontario Convention Center in Ontario California Saturday May 13, 2017

 

Ontario, California March 8, 2017 – The Ontario Convention Center located at 2000 E Convention Center Way, Ontario, California will be the home of Comic Con Revolution.  The Inaugural 1-day event at the Ontario Convention Center will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017.  The show brings Heroes, Villains, Princesses, Pirates, Aliens and so much more to the Inland Empire.

Comic Con Revolution is an event for long time comic collectors as well as first timers and families who want to experience the excitement.  Hardcore fans will recognize many of the names on the guest list while families and first time comic convention attendees will quickly see what makes these events so much fun.

Attending comic cons can be expensive – we want to make it affordable.  Comic Con Revolution offers a variety of pricing options so that the entire family can enjoy the experience.  Adult tickets are $25, teen tickets (13-17 years-old) are $15 and kids 12 and under are free with the purchase of an adult ticket.  One adult ticket allows for up to two free children’s ticket.

RIALTO FINALLY HAS A IN & OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes the long awaited fast food chains expansion has moved into RIALTO and not a moment too soon. At the August 27th Council Meeting Councilman Joe Baca Jr said that people in Rialto were looking for more food options and a way to enjoy one of the most popular Hamburger Restaurants on the West Coast. Rialto City Administrator Mike Story said that their announcement of the Grand Opening received 50,000 hits on the City of Rialto Facebook page.

On the City Administrators monthly update this was what was said of the opening:

In-N-Out Burger expects to open its Rialto store on Riverside Avenue, just south of the 210 Freeway around Labor Day. Construction crews are busy finishing the building improvements with fixtures and equipment soon to follow.

The City approved a memorandum of understanding with an exclusive developer of Chipotle stores to locate adjacent to In-N-Out Burger on a 30,000+ square foot pad. The developer intends to construct a 4,500 square foot retail module that will accommodate Chipotle and one other retail or restaurant tenant. The terms of the transaction must now be developed in a purchase and sale agreement and submitted to the City Council for consideration. Because all of the site improvements and utilities have already been installed, construction can be completed in 90 days or less once started.

This has been long awaited opening and I’m sure Thursday will be a busy, busy day.

This In & Out sits where the Old Fire Station used to be which is now located just south on Riverside Ave.

This “SPOTLIGHT” came from our outreach on Facebook and before being asked to do this interview I never even knew that this type of businesses existed. Sabrina Ruiz is the rep for Independent DOVE CHOCOLATE DISCOVERIES Chocolatier located here in Rialto.
RIALTO NOW – Sabrina, tell us a little about yourself. Did you grow up in Rialto? What’s your background and education? What prodded you to become a small business owner? Why Chocolate?
SABRINA RUIZ – My name is Sabrina Ruiz. I grew up in Ontario and  recently moved to Rialto two years ago. I attended Ontario Christian High School. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.  I am currently working on my Ph.D  in Organizational Management and Leadership thru Capella University. I have always had a desire to work for myself. I was laid off from my employer of seven years in late 2010. I wanted to produce an income that allowed me to have the flexibility to have time for my family and education .I have always been a Chocolate lover and baker; so of course when I had the opportunity to get paid to share Dove Chocolate I embraced it!
I have the unique ability to earn a full time income while still controlling my own hours, and life! I love the flexibility my Dove Chocolate Discoveries®. business allows me, I am able to always be there for my family and still support a wonderful lifestyle! It’s so much fun meeting my Hostesses and helping them throw great tasting parties that their guests LOVE while earning free products! SABRINA RUIZ – Small businesses are job creators. The best advice I would give to small business owners is don’t give up. Personally I support small business Saturday and make an effort to habitually shop at small businesses.
RIALTO NOW – Does your business support any local charities or sports groups?
SABRINA RUIZ – At this time my business does not. My business was recently involved with the making strides for breast cancer walk/run.  I would love to support any of Rialto’s local charities or sports groups thru fundraising.
RIALTO NOW – Is there anything else you would like the Rialto Readers to know?
SABRINA RUIZ – Yes, I am currently holding interviews for Dove Chocolatiers. The only requirements for the job is a functioning mode of transportation, must be 18 or older, and purchase a chocolate kit which is $115 including shipping ($200 retail value). I am the only Chocolatier in Rialto and there is plenty of room for growth within the Inland Empire.

I have lived in Rialto since 1969 and during that time the leadership in this community has done little or nothing to attract quality businesses.

There is no Target, Office Max, Best Buy, etc. I am amazed when I venture to north Fontana and see the businesses in the Summit Center. How did Fontana succeed when all we get from the Rialto mayor and her cronies are empty promises of a Target and an In-N-Out? One of the promises was if they built a new fire station that the land left vacant would be used to build an In-N-Out.

I am still waiting to order my double-double.

Other than Carrows and Corky’s, there is not even a good sit-down family restaurant north of Base Line. There are discount 99-cent stores and fast-food places.

What did the leadership of this community do with the money that they already had? They are bemoaning the fact that they will lose redevelopment money but what happened to the funds prior to this?

Since they squandered the funds in the past I will not support a raise in water and sewer rates and I encourage others to oppose the increase as well.

Why are we last or never at the table?

 While writing this post it looks like Frank Montes and Edgar Montes are ready to sit down and plan out some local events. Follow us and be kept up to date on all of the upcoming information on events and goings on in our area.

In Rialto we are almost always last at the table for fail to ever show up and its sad. We do have a beautiful community and were right smack in the middle of a ton of larger cities and we have the space and diverse population that would pull nice numbers for events. Not to mention 3 new schools and 2 others that are well-known and have a rich history behind them.

Food Truck Events have been pretty exclusive to Ontario, Riverside, Corona, Orange and LA Counties best we have seen of the events was the extreme westside of San Bernardino County. Thanks to Keith Kahn local food truck advocate smaller and food truck events have been popping up more and more and now we have 2 very close to Rialto. Redlands and Rancho School Districts took advantage of slow-moving County legislators and are hosting events this month to help support school programs that require funding assistance.

If it seems as if there’s another food truck festival every weekend here in the Inland Empire, it’s because there is one.
This Saturday (April 14), food trucks will be rolling in to Rancho Cucamonga for the Cougars Booster Club’s first food truck festival at Rancho Cucamonga High School, 11801 Lark Drive, Rancho Cucamonga.
The event will take place from noon to 6 p.m. on the practice football field behind the school. Admission is $5. Kids five and under are free.

Even though gourmet food trucks are not yet able to operate on a daily basis here in the Inland Empire, the food truck craze is continuing to spread, with events here almost on a weekly basis.
Redlands’ first-ever food truck event is happening from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday (April 21) at Redlands East Valley High School, 31000 E. Colton Ave., Redlands.
Our friends over at I.E. Gourmet Food Trucks have invited some of the best food trucks from L.A. and Orange counties to join I.E.-based Suite 106 Cupcakery and Cafe 2 U to tantalize your taste buds.
With thirteen trucks scheduled to be in attendance, you’ll be able to satisfy whatever you’re craving, whether it’s a peanut butter/jelly/bacon/Sriracha burger from Grill ‘Em All, grilled cheese with a twist from Rebel Bite, a fried shrimp Po’ Boy from Ragin’ Cajun or a lobster corn dog from Slummin’ Gourmet.
Admission is only $5, with proceeds benefiting the Redlands East Valley Football Program and Second Harvest Food Bank. Kids four and under are free.
