Run Whatcha Brung has been going on for 25 years now and has been a local staple for many local car club buffs. The name Run Whatcha Brung means what it says if you want to show it off they will let you in. There are no requirements here for it to be a classic car it just needs to be unique and special to you!! Your guaranteed to see some strange a cooky cars at this show.
For years many Classic Car Show fans saw Rialto’s Car Show as a kickoff to the Summer Car Show Season. For years the Saturday Car Show kicked off a Friday Night Burnout Contest and smaller car show with light vendors held at the Rialto Airport. With the city closing down the Airport for what is now one of the biggest retail developments in the Inland Empire the Rialto Rotary Club had to stop the Friday night event.
Well not having a Friday Night event wasn’t cutting it so some creative folks got together and created the Cruise on Route 66 night. So for the last few years people have flocked to Route 66 between Riverside and Acacia Ave to park and cruise their cars. What is even better is there are some mighty tasty spots for dinner or a treat:
Coffee Nuttz – Coffee Nuttz is open and normally has fun stuff going on for Cruise Night visitors. From Coffee Nuttz trophies to free giveaways and music they aim to make Cruise Night something special.
Brothers Pizza – The long standing Pasta and Pizza restaurant in Rialto is smack dab in the middle of this event and is a great place to snag a coveted parking space and some amazing food. Sit by a window and get a great view of cars rolling into the event.
The Cruise night is amazing but that is only the beginning of the fun as the next day Downtown Rialto is turned into a massive Car Show. Cars from all over line the Historic Downtown streets along with food and merchandise vendors. There are also amazing shops open including:
Patio West Deli – A great local Sandwich Shop pumping out amazing products and offering cool inside seating and a beautiful shaded patio in the back.
Dairy Queen – Rialto has one of the last Dairy Queens to offer all the Food and Ice Cream Dairy Queen offers. Nothing is better than a Chocolate dipped cone or a Chicken Strip Basket!
Red District Clothing – A new shop open in Downtown Rialto offers a wide range of clothing and accessories. Stop on by to check out their products and maybe you can find a Rialto hat that you can sport while walking the Car Show.
Below is a list of events and some of the awesome things in store for tomorrow. The local celebrity that can be seen in Rialto regularly showing off what is cool to do and see right here in our little town is pretty popular. The exact time for the local celebrity arrival with his ever so popular live video stream that is seen by hundreds of thousands of Facebook users hasn’t been announced but as soon as we find out you will know so stay tuned/

Survivors define courage and inspire those facing a cancer diagnosis. Their strength is honored with each step they take around the first lap. If you know anyone who’s overcome cancer, invite them to join.
Caring for others is such a selfless act, which is why we honor caregivers with a lap. They often walk with the person they’ve supported.

We celebrate all that we’ve accomplished together and remember those we’ve lost. Together, we commit to take action and help end the pain and suffering of cancer.
This weekend is going to be like every other weekend this summer in the Inland Empire full of fun.
The fun were showing off in this post is the 23rd Annual Run Whatcha Brung Car Show & Cruise Night. This car show is the annual kick off to the summer car shows here in Southern California as well as one of the only shows that opens up registration to anyone who wants to show off their ride. Normally cars are limited to sports cars or classic cars but the Rialto Rotary club wanted something that was cool, unique and allowed everyone to enjoy the weekend the way they wanted to.
Years past the Friday night before the car show were held at the Rialto Airport where the cars would park cruise and take part in contests like burn out and open header. The Friday night event got everyone ready for an awesome day in Downtown Rialto for the Show & Shine on Saturday.
Well insurance costs and the cities decision to close the Airport killed off the Friday Night event. In an effort to bring back the fun of Friday Night activities and to showcase Route 66 that cuts right through the heart of town city Administrator Mike Story and the Rotary Club came up with the idea of a Cruise Night on Route 66. A lot of work and resources go into shutting down Foothill Blvd but the task has proved to be well worth the effort with attendance growing each and every year.
Victor who comes from Pomona every year says that “this is what movies show Route 66 used to look like when our parents used to cruise the local streets on weekend nights”
What else is awesome is local businesses like Coffee Nutz/Cone Creamery, Brothers Pizza, KFC and Baskin Robins capitalize on the boom in people walking up and down the street in Rialto on a warm summer night and bring out speakers and fun for all ages. One of the businesses that has looked to create a safe yet fun place for local teens Coffee Nutz brought out an import night last year working with Inland Empire Youth 4 today. This year the owner of the coffe/ice cream shop is teaming up with local hip hop icon and graffiti artist Wet Paint Larry who is popular for his Sloppy Parlor apparel and positive modeling of how to be Rialto Proud for youth in the region.
Another great addition to this years cruise is Lighting McQueen will be making an appearance at Ned’s Hardware at 312 West Foothill
June 12th from 8:00 to 9:00 am – A meet and greet with the Rialto Police Chief and staff! This will be a recurring event happening every 2nd Tuesday at Coffee Nutzz (119 E. Foothill Blvd.). Come out and learn more about your Police Deparment!
A Taste Of Rialto

2012 National Night Out
National Night Out is a nation-wide program co-sponsored by Target in where neighborhood watch groups come together one night a year with Target representatives, police, fire, school and city officials, to celebrate the concerted effort in fighting crime throughout the year. This year’s event will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:30 pm.
National Night Out is a wonderful opportunity for our community to promote police-community partnerships, crime prevention, and neighborhood camaraderie. It represents the kind of spirit, energy, and determination that is helping make our neighborhoods safer places throughout the year. It is a night to celebrate safety and crime prevention success and to expand and strengthen our commitment throughout the year.
The Rialto Police Department and its personnel are proud to host such a great event and we would like to say a special “Thank You” to all of our citizens for their willingness to work with us to make this a better and safer Rialto.
Every June Rialto gets to show off our local cars, interest has been dropping a little bit but it’s still a cool little show.
I miss the days where it was a 2 day event which consisted of show and shine with burn out contest at the airport Friday night. Then Saturday it’s the full show with vendors and open header contests.
The show used to fill up Riverside Ave from Foothill to the very bottom of down town, now it just barely fills in the down town borders.
Even in its current shape it’s still a great show I have many fond memories at the show and once I get a job I don’t have to work weekends I will be able to share it again with my daughter.
